Historian J. L. Bell discusses and signs copies of his book The Road to Concord: How Four Stolen Cannon Ignited the Revolutionary War (Westholme Publishing, 2016). The book reveals a new dimension to the start of America’s War for Independence by tracing the spark of its first battle back to little-known events beginning in September 1774, when British spies and Massachusetts patriots raced to locate stolen cannon. Copies of the book will be available for purchase, and a book signing will follow the lecture. Light refreshments will be served.
