DCCA Committees

Charitable Giving: Charitable Giving is a subcommittee of the DCCA Board whose mandate is to implement and oversee a proactive agenda of giving to projects and organizations that help further the mission of the Association.

Charitable Giving covers seven areas of concern: Art & Culture, Beautification, Clean & Safe Environment, Diversity, Education,Historic Preservation, and Neighborhood & Community. The subcommittee is tasked to gather grant applications from DCCA operating committees (such as Environment and Education) and to search out and solicit applications in areas in which there is no current DCCA activity.

Charitable Giving makes recommendations to the Board of Directors,
which makes all decisions regarding amounts and distribution of
funding.

House Tour Committee: The third Sunday of each October is the date of DCCA’s Annual House Tour, where from 12-15 neighborhood homeowners open their houses to the public. DCCA has an amazing array of diverse architecture and design in area homes and the tour usually attracts approximately 1500 participants. Volunteers are always needed for the various subcommittees: tickets, publicity, media relations, advertisements, graphics, organization of the tea, etc. On the day of the tour, hundreds of house captains and monitors are needed to give 2 1⁄2 hours of their time in exchange for free tickets to the tour and a wonderful volunteer party at the end of the day.
